Donna Pinel (designer Donna Weight) is a multidisciplinary designer specialising in fashion, textiles, and 3D digital art. After graduating from Saint Martin’s School of Art in 1981 with a B.A. (Hons) in Fashion and Textiles, she quickly became a staple of London's vibrant independent fashion scene, co-founding the graduate collective Notre Dame X. Showing regularly at London Fashion Week, she ran a successful flagship boutique within Kensington’s iconic Hyper-Hyper and wholesaled her collections globally to luxury heavyweights including Harrods, Bloomingdale’s, and Henri Bendel.
Her diverse career spans high-profile fabric innovation for the Wool Secretariat, corporate uniform design for Caledonian Airways, and subcultural styling for hip-hop artists The Cookie Crew, alongside academic lecturing at Nottingham Trent University. Today, Donna translates her traditional tailoring, pattern-making, and production mastery into the digital realm, utilizing advanced tools like Marvelous Designer to create cutting-edge 3D FX and motion graphics through her creative studio, 2dplusone.one.
